OUR MISSION
In 1982, the Air Force 1 changed the game forever. The basketball court revolution was adopted by the street and the iconic sneaker was incorporated by urban culture: in art, music, dance and basketball. To celebrate the legacy of AF1 in the city of São Paulo in 2018, in addition to strengthening street culture, our challenge was to celebrate the women who daily transform this scene and create new realities.

We curate collectives and female protagonists who are transforming agents of local culture to be leaders, articulators and co-creators of the entire Battle Force journey, ahead of the selective and final battles of music, art, dance and basketball.

The Battle Force began with the revitalization of Praça Rotary, a square in downtown São Paulo where women were often barred by men. The journey continued with 2 months of selective battles: slam, dance and basketball. All Battle Force journey was articulated by female and mixed collectives.
For the final battles event and awarding of the winners, we had a music performance by Karol Conka, Emicida and Drik Barbosa.

Battle Force 2018 was the event with the highest egagement of street protagonists, generating cultural relevance and legacy for the city. For the Nike team, it was the event with most engagement of recent years.
